Echion strengthens Intellectual Property Portfolio with Patent Grant
Cambridge, UK— Echion Technologies (“Echion”) has been granted a UK Patent (GB2588254) on the 20th October 2021. This is the first public Echion patent family which has been granted in at least one territory.
The granted product patent covers several important Mixed Niobium Oxide (XNO) compositions for use in superfast charging lithium-ion cells. This includes molybdenum niobium oxides (MoNO), tungsten niobium oxides (WNO), vanadium niobium oxides (VNO), and zirconium niobium oxides (ZrNO) and their method of manufacture.
Many of the compositions have been already exploited by Echion in its 3Ah and 12Ah demonstrator pouch cells.
“The granting of this patent in GB is an important milestone for Echion and our intellectual property portfolio, and we are confident of having it granted in further territories. Echion has invested heavily in growing our patent portfolio over these past years, and I hope to be able to announce further positive news in the near term.” – Dr Alex Groombridge, CTO Echion Technologies.
